Day Old Cayuga Ducklings
The Cayuga duck origins are thought to trace back to the Cayuga Lake area in New York in the late 1800’s.  The Cayuga have black bills and feet, with dark brown eyes.  Their plumage is completely black with an iridescent green coloring.  They have docile temperaments and are great foragers of bugs and insects.  Cayugas are considered the hardiest of domestic ducks and they are well known for their flavorful meat.  The Cayuga became a recognized breed with the American Poultry Association in 1874.
